Time & Location
23 Nov 2025, 9:30 am – 11:30 am
Rani Baug / Veermata Jijabai Bhosale, Railway Station, 91A, Lalbaug Flyover, near Byculla, Byculla East, Byculla, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400027, India
About the event
This walk touches upon the various cultures around the world who brew alcohol outside the unholy four: vodka, whiskey, rum, & gin. Through alcohol we realise our green spaces were once upon a time providers of food, medicine, and intoxicants, produced by our communities as opposed to factories.
As alcohol went from a community product to mass produced commodity, we lost aspects of culture that bound us together.
This walk is acknowledgement of the communities that produced alcohol and of unsung labourers: bacteria and microbes — who help us produce these drinks.
These walks are one of many designed to erase tree blindness and introduce Mumbai's tree diversity.
