This chart is by no means an exhaustive, guide but one that will improve your level of observation through anatomical details and vocabulary. Learning the anatomy and vocabulary of any kingdom would make your observation sharper. They are the building blocks of deeper observation.
 
No matter how acquainted you are with the natural world, mushroom identification will stump you over and over. Eating a wrong mushroom and getting poisoned thereafter remains a sad reality of the present world.
 
I believe this is mainly due to our lack of literacy on mushroom anatomy. While this guide will not help you ID a mushroom, it is a step in the direction to improve your depth of observation through learning vocabulary and anatomical details. It might just help you tell a look alike apart and perhaps save your life.
