This curated route is a collection of haunted tree stories involving trees, demons, spirits and other non-human characters from folklore. These were our last few stories with trees before we went tree blind.

About the event
Lores of Haunted Trees is a re-telling of forgotten haunted tales involving trees. These were the last few stories where our stories involved trees before we went complete tree blind. These stories are a portrait of our parting relationship with trees before modernity sanitised them from our stories. Using fear these stories functioned to protect and guard spaces, codify wisdom and reinforce bias.
These walks are one of many designed to erase tree blindness and introduce Mumbai's tree diversity.

About Maharashtra Nature Park
Maharashtra Nature Park is an example of Mumbai's ability to recognise and preserve its green spaces. This lush green forest garden is embedded between Bandra and Dharavi — featuring a full canopy cover on the trail making it one of the coolest spots in the city. The garden has been converted from a dumping ground into a biodiversity hotspot for Mumbai. Several native trees occupy this space and hold space for multiple species here.
