About the event

This walk is the story of two landscapes, one before the British colonisers arrived, and the one they left behind. As we walk across the garden we go back and forth between the two ecosystems that now stand interwoven into each other forever changing our landscape culture and ecosystem. Central this, is the X'mas trees who stand the tallest amongst all in Lal Bagh.

Before the British arrived, Bengaluru was referred to as "naked country" by the few British soldiers who wandered here. As colonisers greened the city's landscape, they introduced the many trees and plants whose presence has lead to slow forgetting of our native botany.
